The Mewlo story

If you have an indoor cat, you already know the drawer. The one full of toys that held her attention for exactly one week, then got batted under the couch and forgotten. The feather wand she loved on day two and ignored by day nine. The laser pointer that gives you a dead arm after five minutes while she looks at you like you have only just started.

That is the real problem with almost every cat toy on the market. They are built to sell, not to last past the novelty. A bored indoor cat habituates fast. Once the pattern is predictable, the game is over, and she goes looking for something that is not predictable. Usually that turns out to be the couch corner, the blind cords, or your bedroom door at 3am.

We started Mewlo because we were tired of watching working owners carry guilt they did not deserve. You are out nine hours a day earning a living. Your cat is home alone, understimulated, and taking it out on the furniture. None of that means you are a bad owner. It means the tools you were given do not work while you are not in the room.

So we built the thing the cheap toys refuse to be. An automatic laser that runs without your arm, without your attention, and without becoming boring. The difference is the movement. Instead of one repeating loop your cat learns in a day, it runs five distinct patterns at changing speeds, so the prey never behaves the way she expects. That unpredictability is the whole point. It is what keeps a smart, bored cat actually chasing instead of watching.

We hold Mewlo to one standard: it has to earn its place in your home every single day, not just the first week. It has to work while you are at the office, tire her out mid-morning, and leave you walking in at 6:30 to a calm cat asleep on the mat instead of a frantic one pacing at the door. That is the whole job. If it does not do that, it is just another toy in the drawer, and we refuse to make another one of those.
